MOUNTAIN BIKING IN MORZINE WITH ENDLESSRIDE
Many people feel that they know all there is to know about the biking in Morzine, flick through the pages of any UK mountain bike magazine and you'll soon find an article telling you just how good the riding is. They're not wrong but there's so much more and we like to take a different approach to Morzine. It's easy to use the lifts and ride all the classic trails but we like to go further than that, take you off the beaten track and give you a totally unique look on the area's mountain biking.

Few companies have spent as long in the area as us and we work hard each summer finding new trails to guarantee you some unbeatable biking. The region is massive and there are testing trails for everyone: fast forest trails, technical twisting singletracks, exposed high mountain routes, scenic valley traverses, epic climbs and bigger descents.
Our rides also include trips to outlying areas such as the Grand Massif ski area (Samoens & Flaine) and Chamonix. We also run overnight trips to remote mountain refuges. More details on these trips can be found on our events page.
CROSS COUNTRY, FREERIDE OR DOWNHILL?
Morzine is just for downhillers...right? Wrong, Morzine is great for cross country too. It's a common preconception that the area is just suitable for downhill biking but there are many miles of excellent cross country trails. Yes, you can use the lifts to take some of the strain out of getting up the hills and yes, a large proportion of your day will be spent riding down the hill but you don't need a 40lb monster with 8" of travel to do it.
We are primarily a XC orientated company. Our bike staff have been in the area for quite a few years now and they know some amazing routes from all day epics to short out and back trips to make the most of a break in the weather. That said we can also cater for downhill riders.
A FEW ROUTES TO TEMPT YOU
Samoens descent - one of our favourite routes. A good steady climb to start the day and help you feel that you have earned the 1000m technical descent to the valley floor. Ear to ear grin factor is guaranteed. It's not easy without minibus support as there are no lifts back up!

Colorado Singletrack - needs a bit of gardening at the start of each season but once clear it's a great tree lined trail.
Col de Cou - the climb that everyone wants to beat. Can you get to the top without a dab? The average guest time for the 400m of ascent is around 40 mins. The ENDLESSRIDE record is held by pro Barrie Clarke and stands at just under 13 minutes. Our guide Alec from 2004 made it up in 15 mins, the fastest guest record is 19 minutes. Give it a go if you think you're fast enough, the reward is another 1000m descent - this time to the Bar Robinson and an ice cold Mutzig.
Mont Chery circuit - A lift up to the top of Mont Chery for one of the best views around followed by a great bum on the back wheel ridge descent and some swooping singletrack.
Carl's singletrack - We can't tell you where this is or we'd have to kill you. Come riding with us and we'll get you well and truly disorientated on your bike before we show it to you. Blindfolds obligatory for those that can map read! |
